Our long-standing collaboration with the neighbouring Springfields Academy is growing from strength to strength and an ever-increasing number of students in the Sixth Form volunteer for an hour a week, assisting class teachers and giving individual support in a variety of subject lessons, as well as including listening to reading; one girl is also teaching a student how to play a musical instrument. In addition, the current Sixth Form Physicists have been working on a joint project with the students at Springfields, building a Westfield motor car collaboratively in their workshop.

Our partnership with Priestley Primary School is evolving; in additional to our annual Science Week lectures, a number of LVI (Year 12) girls go to the school for weekly sessions to either run a Spanish language after- school club, listen to reading or support with activities in the playground. Two members of staff provide support by volunteering as Governors. Similarly, a number of girls visit Fynamore Primary School each week to listen to pupils read.

We have a regular Lecture Programme as part of our provision of academic enrichment; students and teachers from local schools are regularly invited to join us for talks on a broad range of topics as well as watch theatre productions and academic forums. Recently students from Bentley Wood High School in London, Bristol Grammar School, Pate's Grammar School in Cheltenham and South Wilts Grammar School in Salisbury travelled to St Mary’s for a Classical Symposium at St Mary's Calne (pictured left). Similarly, over 200 students and teachers travelled from schools from neighbouring counties to join us for a German play in March.
