This year's Dance Showcase titled 'Lights, Camera, Action!' was a huge success! After missing out on the 2021 Dance Show due to the pandemic, the girls were thrilled to be able to perform to a sellout audience.

The entire Fourth Form were involved, ably assisted and supported by our Fifth Form volunteers and Dance Leaders, with each year group presenting a different film through Dance. Elowen beautifully hosted the evening, taking the audience through each performance and introducing the performers. UIV transported us into the world of The Hunger Games with their own choreography, MIV got competitive on the basketball court with their High School Musical themed dance, and LIV took us on a journey down the rabbit hole as they took on all of the characters from Alice in Wonderland!

We also featured a group of UIV, who had been working hard to choreograph their own dance to Almost There from Princess and The Frog, using props and costume to do some excellent storytelling. Honor and Jemima from MIV also expertly performed a medley from Annie, reminding us all that we are Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile!

This year is our first year of running our Dance Leaders' course, where LV are given the opportunity to grow leadership skills through work in school, and within the local community. Since January, our five Dance Leaders have been visiting Heddington Primary School once a week to teach a brilliant Toy Story themed dance. The students from Heddington Primary were able to join us to perform in the Dance Showcase. We were incredibly proud of them and of our Dance Leaders, who were energetic, caring and focused, leading our visiting dancers expertly through the evening.

All in all, the audience, our Dance Leaders, our Fifth Form volunteers, Fourth Form and the students from Heddington Primary had a wonderful evening, celebrating all things Films and Dance.

It was a joyous evening, and one we can't wait for next year!
