markreading tnDr Kirk welcomed all the students and staff and highlighted what a positive and uplifting term it had been – full of many varied and wonderful activities. With such troubling events going on in the world, Dr Kirk particularly wanted to praise those girls who have been so active with fundraising and have made a positive difference to the lives of others too. Initiatives such as the fundraising activities during Charity Week for The Harbour Project and the Mufti Day and ‘No Phone Day’ for UNICEF’s Ukraine Crisis Appeal were commended.

Dr Kirk continued:
‘Throughout the term I have been inspired by the way you have worked together and supported each other across all areas of school life. This togetherness, collaboration and caring create a special atmosphere here. There has been an abundance of wonderful highlights including British Science Week of course, but also the many opportunities you’ve had to collaborate and create, such as the Dance Showcase with Heddington Primary, the Opera Gala, Pangbourne Piano Festival, Spring Concert, The Comedy of Errors by the UIV and the latest edition of Kaleidoscope to name just a few. There’s also been some fantastic sporting success, including the recent triumph for our Netball Teams at Condover Hall.’

Dr Kirk went on to congratulate the pupils on their hard work and unique contributions made to the school this term and extended a heartfelt thanks to all the staff, both teaching and non-teaching, for their expertise, time, support and encouragement.

The new Head Girl’s Team for 2022-23 was then announced: many congratulations to all of the girls on their new positions.
The Mark Reading came to a close with some brilliantly performed excerpts from the Spring Concert, followed by the unveiling of the Autumn Term production – The Heart of Robin Hood by David Farr – followed by the current standing on the all-important Company Points…
