On Thursday 17th February, as part of their Donaldson Week activities, MIV (Year 8) were hosted by the Science Department in collaboration with Bloodhound Education.

They spent the morning considering the best design for a car that would win a race when powered by pressurised air. The morning began with a briefing about the Bloodhound project and design, followed by the students making their own card models of this car and racing them as balloon racers. After break, they were given K’NEX kits and had to consider how to make their car go the farthest in the final competition.

Our thanks go to Pam Curtis for running the event and to MIV for their enthusiastic approach to the designs on the day.
