St Mary's Calne
The LIV and MIV (Years 7 and 8) went for their annual walk and summer camp last week. There was a change of venue this year with a lovely circular walk from school around Bowood and back to the lower pitch to camp.
Each team, with their member of staff, followed their specific route using map and route cards, going through two check points before returning to school. On arriving back, they pitched their tents and then collected roll mats and sleeping bags. Mrs Baldwin then organised a mass rounders game before having a BBQ, which was superbly cooked by Miss Cavanagh, Miss Setterington and Miss Palfreyman. A good night was had until a fox screamed early in the morning, waking a number of LIV, but they quickly went back to sleep! In the morning, they were all very efficient at packing up and tidying the field. A big thank you to the other members of staff not yet mentioned for all their help: Mrs Hayes, Mr Rose, Dr Drape, Mrs Hornby, Miss Dickson, Miss Brivio-Stone, Miss Turley, Mrs Carter and Father Jonathan.
