St Mary's Calne
The start of Autumn Term brings with it the annual Company Cross Country - the first Company competition of the year! Some would say the students had two days of perfect cross country weather – however, I’m not sure the girls appreciated the downfall of rain at the start of the day!
On Tuesday 12th September, the LV and UIV kicked off the two days of racing, with LV first at the starting line. Congratulations to Emily I. for coming in 1st place for Ed Rich, with runners from Ed Rich also finishing in 3rd and 4th.
UIV followed with a very competitive race that ended with Florrie, representing Moberly, finishing in 1st place, and Moberly also taking 4th, 5th, 6th and 8th. Points were taken from the top seven runners of each company and Moberly finished the day in the lead.
On Wednesday, the sun come out for the LIV and MIV for their chance at competing in the first company event of the year. MIV took to the course first with Ed Rich scoring 1st place again, thanks to Kitty F. After watching the MIV compete, the LIV were next at the start line and showed great resilience througout their run. Minna saw another blue win with Grosstete in a close 2nd and Moberly 3rd.
Well done to everyone who took part across the two days and finishing the course.
