In celebration of British Science Week, the Science team presented a series of Chapels led by the respective pillars of science: Biology, Physics, and Chemistry. Students then delved into each of these disciplines with activities relating to the core theme of British Science Week - Time.

In Fourth Form lessons, the theme of 'time' took centre stage. Students immersed themselves in the concept, examining reaction times in Biology, experimenting with iodine clocks in Chemistry, and exploring methods of producing timers in Physics. It was a week of intellectual stimulation and hands-on learning, igniting a passion for science in young minds.

Lunch time workshops included: The Engineering Club embarked on the fascinating journey of 3D printing models, while the Sixth Form students engaged in the cutting-edge field of genetic engineering, manipulating bacteria with a gene to make them glow. Meanwhile, the Dissection Club bravely explored the inner workings of amphibians, dissecting frogs with precision and curiosity.

Throughout the week, a myriad of other events also captivated the students. The livestreaming of hatching eggs provided a glimpse into the miracle of life, while the 'Mystery Microscope' challenged students to uncover hidden wonders in the microscopic world. And who could forget Mr Smyth's Science Joke of the Day, a light-hearted touch that added a dash of humour to the week's proceedings.

Happy Biritsh Science Week to all!
