On Saturday 2nd March, Pangbourne College hosted its annual Piano Festival, sharing its stunning Steinway pianos with competitors from schools across the South of England. In its 12th year, almost 100 young musicians from 40 schools joined us at this special celebration of the piano.
Suri (LIV), Katelyn (MIV), Hannah (UIV), Eleanor (UV) and Allison (UV) all played with fine finesse in their respective categories and also embraced the opportunity to listen to other talented young pianists perform and learn from the coaching and encouragement from experts in the field. Our pianists thoroughly enjoyed the Model D piano and its orchestral sound in the Nancye Harding Recital Hall.
Mr Sandon-Williams, our newly appointed Head of Keyboards, was delighted with the quality of piano playing and is already looking forward to next year's event!
Congratulations must go to Allison for winning the '18 and Under, Grades 7-8' Class, and to Hannah for achieving the joint runner-up position in the 'Advanced Solo, 13 and Under, Grades 7-8' Class. It was a splendid day of music making.
