We were delighted to welcome approximately 140 pupils and staff from four local state schools to the German and Spanish Onatti Theatre productions (Der Babysitter and Reserva Duplicada, respectively) held this week in our Delscey Burns Theatre.

The clear, well-paced delivery, and clever visual cues, enabled pupils across the secondary age range to access the dialogue and follow the plot, easily. There were many hilarious moments, crazy costumes, and amusing mishaps!  The actors, all native-speakers, engaged the audience very skillfully and were happy to take questions about their experiences as foreign-language actors.

Following the German play, we were treated to some short talks and activities led by Madeleine (LVI), Mr Conrad Dodd (Y2 German and Russian, Durham), and Isabella Fielden-Page (2021 Leaver, Law with German at UCL and Goethe Institut Ambassador).  All three presentations extolled the virtues of language learning and the life-long benefits that they can bring.
