It has been a successful couple of weeks of competition for SMC swimmers. The latest Swimming Gala, on Friday 2nd February against Westonbirt, was really exciting, especially for some of the U12 who were competing for the first time!

Overall, the Gala was a draw, with the U15 and U18 teams winning their respective age categories. Both the older age groups were spread quite thinly due to other commitments, however, Silver, Layo and Zaza swam up an age group gaining valuable points towards the U18 results. Congratulations to everyone who took part.

Wiltshire County Swimming has monopolised a few weekends for Ava (MIV),  Flo B (UIV) and Flo P (LV). They all had excellent Personal Best Times in ALL their respective events!

Ava, the first of the three to compete, swam four individual events finishing 2nd in the 50m Backstroke, 4th in the 100m Backstroke and 6th in the 50m and 100m Freestyle.

Flo P swam nine individual events finishing 2nd in the 50m Butterfly, 3rd in the 100m Individual Medley and 50m and 100m Freestyle. She also finished 4th in the 50m and 200m Backstroke and the 200m Freestyle.

The result table finished on an absolute high with Flo B outstanding in all her nine individual events. She totally dominated the Freestyle events winning the 50m, 100m and 200m. She also won the 50m Butterfly and 50m Breaststroke. She took 2nd in the 50m Backstroke, 100m Butterfly and 200m Individual Medley. Flo trains incredibly hard so these results were well deserved.

Congratulations to all three of you!

Congratulations also go to Isabella (MIV) who has qualified for the British School Biathlon Final which is to be held at Bath University in March. Good luck Isabella!
