On Friday 8th March, the U16, U15 and U14 Netball teams set out to Shrewsbury to take part in a Netball tournament at Boreatton Park. After a a quick cultural and shopping trip in Shrewsbury, we arrived at Boreatton Park ready for the fun to begin. The first night we enjoyed a campfire and singing with our PGL helper, Meg, and a very competitive game of Capture the Flag organised by the UV.

On Saturday morning, the U14s were in action, winning all of their matches very convincingly against schools from Birmingham, Newport and Wakefield. In the afternoon, the U15 and U16s played a similar mix of schools and, again, won their matches in great style. Impressively, the U15s won one of the matches 28-0 in only 16 minutes!

When the girls were not playing netball, they were getting adventurous on the high ropes, trapeze, giant swing, rifle shooting, zip wires, climbing and playing Aeroball. Saturday night was a silent disco and a game of 40/40 and then to bed... exhausted!

Sunday brought more matches and with that, the Semi Finals and Finals. All our teams made their way into the finals. The U14s played Outwood Academy and won 10-4.  The U16s and U15s were in the same draw so it was a SMC Final and eventually the U16s pulled away and won 10-4.

There was an award ceremony where our girls were presented with the winners trophy and medals by Ruby Paker who is a Severn Stars Super League player. What a fabulous fun-filled netball weekend. A huge congratulations to all the girls that took part.
