Saturday 13th January was a beautiful morning for the Wiltshire Schools' Athletic Association's (WSAA) Cross Country Championships at Sheldon School in Chippenham. Despite a frosty start, the day ended bright and sunny with no wind, leading to perfect conditions for running.

Inter Girls

Our U15 athletes showcased remarkable performance on the challenging 3,860m course, an impressive feat considering they are all first year Inter Girls. Emily I (LV) finished 14th, but was just one place shy of qualification for the next round.

Junior Girls

Facing a formidable Junior Girls competition, Florrie M (UIV) exhibited commendable resilience on the 3,250m course, tackling an uphill element three times. In a field of 42 runners, Florrie secured an admirable 16th position.

Minor Girls

Minna (LIV) put in a great effort over the 2,370m course in a big field of 50+ runners from around the County. Her stellar performance was not without a touch of humour as she seemed to find the only puddle on the course!

Well done to all the St Mary's girls on some excellent running. Each athlete demonstrated determination, skill, and sportsmanship, contributing to the collective success of the school in this wonderful event.
