The LIV enjoyed an exciting and memorable Wednesday, marked by their first Home Clothes Day in support of charity and a special outdoor Maths lesson. As part of their studies money, the students had a chance to apply their skills in the real-world setting, making their learning both practical and engaging. Each child was given a set amount of money to take to the School Shop, where they were presented with a list of items and prices. Their challenge was to work out what they could afford to buy while staying within their budget and calculate the required change (if any!).
This hands-on experience allowed the children to apply concepts like addition, subtraction, and decision-making in a real-world context. They were able to see the practical importance of handling money, budgeting, and making choices based on what they could afford.
The class was a great success, and the students thoroughly enjoyed the chance to use their maths skills in a new, engaging way.
