On Friday 14 June, our LV GCSE Geography students took to the streets of Bristol for an engaging day of hands-on human geography fieldwork.
After an early start, the groups visited three key locations: Cribbs Causeway shopping centre on the outskirts of Bristol, Cabot Circus in the city centre, and Wapping Wharf in the newly regenerated part of the city. Our work here included Environmental and Land use questionnaires, as well as surveys for the general public. For many, approaching busy crowds to ask questions was a completely new experience - met with a mix of enthusiasm and nerves!
The day concluded with a scenic boat trip around the historic harbour and port, where our knowledgeable tour guides shared fascinating insights into Bristol’s rich history, along with plenty of useful geography buzzwords for future use.
The trip was both highly informative and thoroughly enjoyed by all.
