Our annual Sports Day at Beversbrook Sports Facility on Saturday 21 June 2025 was a great success, with pupils, staff, and parents coming together for another wonderful morning of athletics and company competition. After a heatwave during the week, Saturday cooled down and was overcast, making the conditions perfect for the event.

There was a strong feeling of community, with the company tents surrounding the finish line and creating a fantastic atmosphere for both spectators and competitors. Throughout the morning, girls competed in various track and field events to earn points for their companies.

A new addition to the programme this year was the Staff vs Sixth Form relay. The staff team came out of the blocks fast and took the win; the team consisted of Mr Hayes, Mr Coombs, Miss Cox, and Mr Waldron. The other staff team was Mrs Harris, Miss Caldwell, Mr Abini, and Mr Perry Evans.

Following the relay, the staff stepped up to the tug of war rope to compete against the parents — many of whom were dads. Despite losing the first two attempts, the staff rallied to win the third, but the parents claimed victory overall, winning 2–1 this year.

The results, calculated throughout the event by our amazing staff members Mrs Handy and Miss L Davies, are as follows:

Junior Victrix Ludorum – Emilia C

Junior Company Winner – Poore

Inter Victrix Ludorum – Lucy S

Inter Company Winner – Moberly

Senior Company Winner – Poore

Overall Company Results:
5th Place – Osmund
4th Place – Ed Rich
3rd Place – Moberly
2nd Place – Grosstete
1st Place – Poore

Congratulations to Poore, who were champions on the day!

Thank you to all the staff who helped run the events, and well done to everyone who took part — it was, yet again, an amazing day, with every girl winning their own race!

Miss Lizzie Pollitt, Head of PE
