On Friday 23 May, St Mary’s Guides joined girls from 1st Calne for a six-day camp at the Girlguiding Wiltshire North County Campsite, where they enjoyed outdoor skills, fun activities, and new friendships.

On Tuesday 20 May, we welcomed local Sixth Form students to join our LVI students for a Competitive Applications Afternoon focused on preparing for top university courses through expert advice, academic challenges, and practical guidance.

Our U18 cricketers played a thrilling T20 match against Godolphin at Avebury Cricket Club in the School Sport Magazine T20 Cup.

On Saturday 17 May, 12 pupils were selected to represent St Mary's Calne at the Independent School Girls Tennis League held at Bradfield College.

A group of intrepid students undertook their Duke of Edinburgh's Gold Award practice expedition across the rugged and beautiful landscapes of Dartmoor. Spanning three days, the expedition was a true test of resilience, teamwork, and outdoor skills - all under an unexpectedly sunny sky!

Last Friday, in glorious Spring weather the LIV and MIV set off from Broad Hinton to walk through the equally lovely North Wiltshire countryside at the start of the annual walk and camp as part of their Challenge and Adventure programme.

This term, our Rangers and Guides worked towards either First Aid Stage 5 or Reflect Stage 5 skills builders - gaining practical first aid knowledge or exploring teamwork and traditional skills - while next term brings Guide camp, canoeing, and a fun 'penny hike' to round off the year.

An evening of lively discussion and shared scholarship brought together Sixth Form Classicists from St Mary’s and Winchester College to explore Vergil’s Aeneid in an inspiring literary event.
