On Tuesday 7th May, a group of 10 LV and LVI singers went to Eton College to participate in the Eton and Windsor Choral Society’s ‘Come and Sing’ evening.
On Wednesday, the LVI Chemists embarked on a scenic journey to Bath University to enjoy an introduction to the different analytical techniques that are featured in the A Level Chemistry course.
On Friday evening, six Roman Catholic girls from St Mary’s were confirmed at Downside Abbey by the Rt Rev. Declan Lang, the Bishop of Clifton.
Last Friday, eight of our Young Enterprise members went to Greenways Business Park in Chippenham to represent Beeco in the Wiltshire and Gloucestershire Young Enterprise County Competition.
On Tuesday evening, the Fourth Form Music Festival came to a stunning conclusion with an amazing concert that showcased 16 of our talented junior musicians. They all performed for the chance to win the Festival Cup and individual prizes awarded to the winner of each class.
Last weekend saw 96 participants take to the courts to battle it out at this year’s PGSM Tennis Tournament. With the event split into three categories to cater for levels of competitiveness, we started across all 20 courts for four hours of fun and feisty matches!
On Saturday 27th April, Calne was alive with the sound of singing at the Calne Spring Sing, a community celebration of choir singing featuring choirs of all shapes and sizes at venues across Calne town centre. First on the programme in Marden House was our LIV Choir and Major Minors Children's Choir, in their first major public collaboration!
To celebrate the first anniversary of Grow Club, on Monday 29th April we visited the glorious 15 acres of gardens of Highgrove, private residence of Their Majesties King Charles III and Queen Camilla, near Tetbury in Gloucestershire, followed by a visit to Westonbirt Arboretum.
Life for our swimmers has been full of fun with the Independent Boarding Schools Relay Competition, South West Regionals and Rookie Lifeguarding keeping them busy and challenged in the pool!
Last week one of our singing teachers Mr Harrison-Oram stepped in at the last minute to perform Carmina Burana with the Calne Choral Society.
